Jo Johnson, LUTCF

What is your role at Johnson Insurance? And how does your role play a factor in the success of the company? My role here is really a varied position. I would say my major one is to help anyone that walks in the door with what they are wanting – health insurance, auto or property insurance, life insurance, long-term care or get help if it is a question I can’t answer. Second major position is finances for the business from billing to paying expenses to accounting through Quickbooks. All are important to any business, so you know where you are at financially.

What makes you proud to work at Johnson Insurance? My name is on the billboard and I feel our honesty, integrity and trust have built this business. Longevity in the business builds a solid reputation that is needed to stay and get referrals.

What are three words to describe Johnson Insurance? Awesome. Leaders. Caring. Successful.

What do you like most about Johnson Insurance? I think the leadership has put Johnson Insurance ahead of most others. That foresight for social media, processes, technology, and Greg’s forward thinking outside of the box is what I like most.

What is your proudest moment at Johnson Insurance? I have had people give us everything they can and knowing they trust us with everything they have is a very proud moment.

What do you like most about your job? The flexibility in this business allows me to do what I enjoy and still get things that need to be done at the office.

What do you love most about the insurance industry? I genuinely care about people and if I can improve their situation then that is what I love this business. We are the only ones that can hand checks at the time of death, an accident, or a derecho storm. We can bring comfort in time of need.

What do you like to do in your spare time? I love horseback riding and camping. Tailriding gives me peace and joy seeing God’s beauty in all these areas I have visited. I also enjoy a round of golf with friends when the time is right.

What book did you read last? I am currently reading Rick Warren’s “The Purpose Driven Life.”

What is on your bucket list? I would love to go on a bonafide cattle drive out west under the stars to experience what it would be like as a “Cowboy.”

What is one thing you cannot resist? I love pizza and have a hard time resisting it.

If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be? If I could talk to one person, I think of Jesus Christ my savior. To listen to him, learn from him and to be like him, which may all be overwhelming but would be awesome!

What is the first concert you attended? I think the first concert I ever went to was back in the 70’s (dating myself now) Doobie Brothers at Cedar Rapids Coliseum.
