Greg Johnson, LUTCF

Investment Advisor Representative

What makes you proud to work at Johnson Insurance? The way we work to take care of all of our clients. The way we give back to the community. The way we work with each other to get more done than any one person could do on their own.

How does the organization support your professional development and career growth? I feel the leader of the organization should set the example for others to grow and better themselves. Investing in our education is required to reach the levels of success we want.

Is risk-taking encouraged, and what happens when people fail? Yes, being bold and brave allows our team members to grow as individuals and professionals. Failure is appreciated as it just means we are one step closer to success.

What is your favorite workplace tradition? Our annual holiday giving whether it be gifts to clients or donations made on behalf of clients. I love being able to give back. This year has been great to give back multiple times to several different organizations.

How has Johnson Insurance helped you in your career development? Forced me to become a better leader and advisor for our clients. Never allowed me to settle for good enough.

What are three words to describe Johnson Insurance? Caring. Personal. Professional.

What do you find the most challenging at Johnson Insurance? Finding enough time to get in front of all our clients.

What is on your wish list for the next 10 years with Johnson Insurance? Add more advisors to help us reach all of our clients, better internet at the office, more time off to spend with family, and more money to give back to our community.

What is your proudest moment at Johnson Insurance? Sitting with a client who had recently been diagnosed with cancer and helping her figure out how to take care of her family after she passed away. We ended up helping her negotiate the sale of her farm, set up trust accounts for both of her children, and was with her through her last days here on earth. It was truly an honor to help her and her family accomplish her goals.

What does a typical day look like for you? In the office by 7:45am, meetings or appointment prep in the mornings and sales appointments or client reviews throughout the rest of the day. Usually, 1 - 2 days a week are pretty filled with meetings and the rest of the week is filled with appointments.

What is your favorite thing about working at Johnson Insurance? Our culture which continues to evolve. Our team members are talented, committed and fun to be around.

What motivates you to wake up and go to work? My pure passion to grow our business and take care of our clients. It's never easy, but helping people achieve financial success keeps me motivated to continue our work.

What are your hopes for our industry? That people continue to put their trust and confidence in advisors. There are plenty of ways people can get information today, but I worry about people being able to take that information and put it to good use on their own.

What core values mean the most to you and why? TEAM and GROW - I truly believe in a TEAM approach to this business and the more people we have committed to a common cause the better chance we have to reach our goals. GROW is also vital to success in any matter. Never settling for good enough and pushing yourself to improve will never hurt you. It may not always be easy, but the results are always worth it.

Top three life highlights? Travel - I have had the fortune of going to a lot of places I never dreamed I would. Kids - Seeing my kids grow and be a part of their lives has been an absolute joy. Business - Seeing our business grow like it has over the last 18 years has been beyond what I ever imagined.

What do you do for fun? Fires with neighbors, going to new breweries and watching sports.

What was the last experience that made you a stronger person? Derecho - saw our community come together and we all helped each other throughout the clean up.

What's something most people don't know about you? I love watching WWE wrestling.

What is one thing you cannot resist? Pizza & Beer.

Where would you like to go on a dream vacation? Bora Bora - stay in one of those huts over the ocean.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? Rubik's Cube - that thing amazes me.

If you could choose anyone as a mentor, who would you choose? My Dad - he has taught me so many things in life I will never be able to pay him back.

What's something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know? I started a home brewing company with my neighbors called Eastridge Brewing Company. Unfortunately, it didn't succeed past my garage.

If you could pick one superpower, what would it be? To always stay positive and fight against all the negativity in the world. To never stop believing in myself and stay focused on the goals I have set.
