What is your role at Johnson Insurance? And how does your role play a factor in the success of the company? One of my primary roles is Case Manager of Property and Casualty. I track progress of new business by following up with quotes and making sure it’s issued in a timely manner with companies. I also track claims for our clients and make sure they have been paid or settled, as well as keep in constant contact with client to ensure they are satisfied. Another responsibility of mine is to assist with policy reviews and meet with clients to make sure everything is up to date on their policy and that they are properly covered. And lastly, I complete crop insurance processing which includes acreage reports, production reports and new applications.
What makes you proud to work at Johnson Insurance? I am proud of the reputation we have built as a company. We take pride in the fact we are family owned and truly care about our clients and their needs.
Is risk-taking encouraged, and what happens when people fail? Risk-taking is absolutely encouraged. It’s our goal to develop our team members into leaders, who can think on their own, and we trust they will make the best possible decision. If we make mistakes, which we all do, we take responsibility for it, learn from it and move on.
How has Johnson Insurance helped you in your career development? Over the years my knowledge of the industry has continued to grow as well as my relationships with clients, companies, and team members.
What are three words to describe Johnson Insurance? Teamwork. Communication. Timeliness.
What do you find the most challenging at Johnson Insurance? I think everyone on the team would admit that technology has been the most challenging for me. When I first started applications were completed with pen and paper, now everything is done electronically. But my willingness to try new things and adapt has allowed me to grow, which is one of our core values.
What do you like most about Johnson Insurance? Teamwork. When I first started it was just me. I was farming full-time and working the insurance business at night from our home. I never imagined the company would grow like it has, and it wouldn’t be possible without the team we have supporting it.
What is your proudest moment at Johnson Insurance? My proudest moment is when Jo and Greg decided to join me in the business and open our office in town.
What does your workspace look like? A large desk with too many files on it!

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? I would love to learn to be a pilot.
What was the last experience that made you a stronger person? It would definitely be dealing with the aftermath of the derecho storm.
